As a wildlife enthusiast, I have watched in dismay as nature has been put to extreme pressure to simply survive on this once green and precious land. 

We have sleep-walked knowingly into a state of decline where Britain is one of the most-nature depleted countries in the world. This is not a statistic I am proud of. 

When I was young, I embraced nature - from the flying ants in my garden to the wonderful wildflower meadows of a Wiltshire countryside and the beautiful songs of skylarks. Nature was everywhere. 

Now, it is so depleted that we have to act. 

This wildlife documentary will reveal the joy, and the many wonders of Britain's natural world while shining a light of truth on the work that needs to be done to restore and harmonise our natural environment. 

We need to re-engage with nature. This is a priority. We need to remember that we are a part of it, and that without nature, and the soil beneath our feet, our way of life will be at risk.
